Chilly Mornings

February 4, 2012

“Prise hands out of pockets, search around for keys, open door and run to get the heaters on”. That’s probably what should be written on our opening up instructions – “then run and get kettle on, and run around the play centre getting tables and chairs set up to keep warm”. Most customers get a lovely warm welcome, but our poor staff don’t! Pity poor Sean, our cleaner, who sometimes cleans first thing – he probably had to crack the water off the mop this morning! Luckily it warms up quite quickly, so there’s not to much fighting for first place at the fires! Wish there’d been a facility like this when my son was little. I remember walking along the beach with him when he was 3 and he was literally being blown around – a morning at Helter Skelter with hands wrapped around mugs of steaming hot choc while he ran around would have been much better for both of us!
